We traveled Italy by car. Because car parking can be expensive, we tried staying in hotels that offered free parking and that is the main reason we chose Hotel Porta Nuova. The hotel is located at the east entrance of the main sights of Assisi, high on a hill overlooking the Umbria plain. We stayed just one night and were lucky to get their last room. The front desk was very helpful with directions and explaining how to get around in Assisi. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast that came with the room was the best we had of all the hotels we stayed in. Most hotels just offer coffee, juice, fresh roll and butter/jam. Hotel Porta Nuova had a small buffet with ham, cheese, ceral, breakfast cake along with the fresh rolls and juice/coffee. Since we had the last room, we didn't have a choice but I would highly recommend getting a room away from the street side. It was noisy until very late at night and then started up again in the morning. The view from that side of the hotel is outstanding but I would have traded it in a heart beat for something quieter. Still, the service and location make this a great three star hotel.

We were greeted by very helpful and friendly staff. We booked a standard room but upon arrival were offered an upgrade to a superior for the same rate. The difference was that we had a view, and in Italy of course the views are spectacular. The location was perfect, right at the gate to town. We were driving (never again in Italy!) and parking was easy and directions given to our next destination from the staff we so helpful.

We were right above a traffic circle, but really not bothersome as it quieted down at night

In diesem Hotel habe ich mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Es entspricht in jeder Hinsicht meinen Erwartungen. Ich würde es jederzeit weiterempfehlen.

Great Location, good value Hotel Porta Nuova is located just outside one of the main entrance gates to the old city. Walking distance for restaurants and sights is ideal. Bed very comfortable, fairly large bathroom. Simple furnishings, but good space for the price. Only downside is traffic noise when window is open but airconditioning is free of charge. Very helpful and friendly concierge.

Io e mia moglie abbiamo trascorso soltanto una notte nell'hotel. Tutto corrispondenva alla descrizione presente sul sito, la colazione e' stata di livello piu' che discreto, abbondante e ovviamente compresa nel prezzo di pernottamento. Anche la nostra camera dava sulla famosa rotatoria ma la camera si e' rivelata discretamente insonorizzata. Il padrone è una persona gentile e disponibile che ci ha dato tutte le informazioni che gli abbiamo chiesto. Se dovessimo ritornare in zona questo sarebbe certamente il primo posto dove ci rivolgeremmo
